Here is the story of how he came to be a part of our family.
In the September of 2007 my husband said he had a surprise for me and my son. And he brought this dog home. He was about 7
months old. He was so cute. He knew I had been wanting a dog about the size of a Westie with that type of fur. I am allergic
to certain types of dogs and I know I can handle a Westie's fur. My mom has a terrier that is something like Toto from
the Wizard of Oz and her fur does not bother me either.
Anyway, my husband got the dog from his boss. He breeds Westies and apparently they could
not keep him to breed him--something to do with messing up the blood line. I have not earthly idea what that means...
I guess my husband and his boss were talking one day about this pup that he needed to sell. My husband said well, my wife
wants a dog like that...but I can't buy him. I guess he kept that in mind and within a week brought the dog to my husband
and said we could have him. He told him he would take him back if I did not want him.
We would not trade him for
the world! He is such a good dog. He was easily house broken and loves to play. My son who was 5 1/2 at the time was a bit
mean to him at first and wanted to pull him here and there but now he is great with him and helps take care of him. I think
they will be best buds as they both get older.
My mom and her dog, who is 16 years old, live with our family and
I have to say having Dudley around has made her a little more spunky. He wants to play all the time and she is just not into
that. It is funny watching them.
Dudley is also insistant on playing with our cats which they of course are not
too keen about. I will update this lens with more pics after I download them to my computer.
Westies Rule!
